Cancer Grand Challenges solution NMR Postdoctoral Position at UPenn

Postdoctoral Position at UPenn – NMR studies of T cell receptor antigen recognition

A postdoctoral position funded through the international Cancer Grand Challenges initiative is available for immediate hire in the Sgourakis lab at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and the University of Pennsylvania.

The primary focus of the project is to study the dynamic process of MHC-I antigen recognition by T cell receptors, to guide AI-based approaches for predicting functional interactions de novo. The candidate will join a multi-disciplinary Team from leading institutions in the US and Europe bridging structural studies, high-throughput functional characterization, and machine learning to tackle this challenge:

The position provides regular access to recently installed 600 and 800 MHz Bruker AVANCE NEO spectrometers located at the NMR core in the UPenn Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics. Both systems are equipped with a 5mm 1H-optimized triple resonance cryoprobe designed for 1H observation with 13C/15N decoupling, and 13C observation with 1H decoupling due to superior sensitivity on 13C.

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Structural Biology, Biophysics, or a related discipline, with a strong background in biomolecular solution-state NMR. Students who just received or are expected to receive their degree are encouraged to apply. The position is available for immediate hire, with competitive salary & benefits package. To apply, please email a Cover letter, CV, and reference contact information to: nikolaos.sgourakis@pennmedicine.upenn.edu
