We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity to join the UCL Biomolecular NMR Facility, part of one of the world’s foremost centres for research and teaching in the biological sciences at University College London (UCL).
About Us: Biosciences at UCL is a leading Division, renowned for its diverse research portfolio that spans all areas of biology, from structural biology to cell function, organism development, genetics, population studies, and environmental science. Our Division is supported by state-of-the-art equipment and high-calibre science technology platforms. We also offer a wide range of educational programmes, including undergraduate, Masters, and postgraduate research courses.
The Role: We seek an experienced NMR spectroscopist to manage the UCL Biomolecular NMR Facility, which comprises 800, 700, 600, and 500 MHz NMR spectrometers dedicated to biomolecular NMR, structural biology, and metabolomics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the biomolecular NMR capability within the Division of Biosciences
- Provide expert guidance in experimental design and optimal use of the NMR Facility for users.
- Manage and develop the Facility, ensuring its smooth operation.
- Collaborate with academic staff on research projects.
About You:
- PhD or postdoc in a Biological or Physical Science discipline relevant to NMR of proteins and/or nucleic acids.
- Significant hands-on experience with biomolecular NMR spectroscopy, including pulse sequence implementation as applied to biological macromolecules.
- Ability to provide technical expertise in experimental NMR methods, optimize pulse sequences, and train users in spectrometer operation, data processing, and analysis.
