Post-doctoral opportunity in NMR in the Merritt lab at the University of Florida High Magnetic Field lab

Job Title: Post-Doctoral Associate – NMR with 13C-optimized HTS cryoprobes

Overview: The Merritt lab is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Post-Doctoral Associate to join our dynamic research team specializing in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) based metabolomics and tracer metabolism. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of metabolism and NMR. This position is funded by RM1-GM148766, and offers a unique opportunity to advance our understanding of metabolic processes using state-of-the-art NMR technology. The candidate must:

  1. **Lead Innovative Research:** Spearhead research initiatives focused on applying high-temperature superconducting NMR probes to study metabolic processes.


  1. **Collaborate:** Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of experts in NMR spectroscopy, materials science, and metabolism to drive collaborative research projects.


  1. **Probe Development:** Contribute to the development and optimization of high-temperature superconducting NMR probes for enhanced sensitivity and precision in metabolic studies.


  1. **Data Analysis:** Apply advanced data analysis techniques to extract meaningful insights from NMR data, contributing to the publication of high-impact research papers.


  1. **Training and Mentorship:** Collaborate with graduate students and junior researchers, sharing your expertise and fostering a collaborative and supportive research environment.




-       Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, or a related field.

-       Proven expertise in NMR spectroscopy and a strong background in metabolic studies.

-       Experience with the development and application of high-temperature superconducting NMR probes is highly desirable.
