The research of Dr. Marc-Olivier Ebert at the Laboratory of Organic Chemistry focuses on the structure determination and investigation of molecular dynamics of peptides and oligonucleotides by NMR spectroscopy.

Prof. Dr. Sereina Riniker's group for Computational Chemistry at the Institute of Molecular Physical Science is interested in the development of methodology for classical molecular dynamics simulations and cheminformatics, and in the application to address challenging biological and chemical questions.

The collaborative research project will focus on the investigation and optimization of the structure-permeability relationship of peptide antibiotics by NMR spectroscopy and computational methods. The preferred starting date is early 2024.

Applicants should hold a M.Sc. in chemistry, biochemistry or a closely related field and have a keen interest in hands-on NMR spectroscopy and computational chemistry as well as solid skills in the wet lab. Programming skills (Python) are advantageous. We welcome self-motivated candidates with outstanding academic record, excellent communication skills and professional integrity to apply.
