Nuage Therapeutics is a biotech company, spin-off of the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB) Barcelona and ICREA. Nuage Tx develops potent and selective drugs targeting disease related proteins with disordered regions considered undruggable up to date, exploiting cutting edge knowledge in biomolecular condensation. As part of Nuage Tx’s growing plan we are seeking a motivated Scientist with experience in biochemical and biophysical characterisation of biomolecules. Strong communication skills to work in an interdisciplinary team, ability to design and execute experimental plans, high capacity to interpret and present scientific data is required. Proficiency in English is indispensable.
The Scientist will be a member of the Nuage Tx’s R&D team, report to the Head of Technology and receive scientific guidance from Nuage Tx experts in the corresponding areas.
Requirements and selection criteria
- PhD in biochemistry, biophysics, or another relevant field.
- 3+ years of experience (post-PhD) in a biomedical laboratory on characterization of proteins and mechanism of action of small molecules. Work experience in the private sector will be positively valued.
- Extensive experience and knowledge in biochemistry and biophysics:
o Techniques used to characterize macromolecules and small molecules including nuclear magnetic resonance, mass spectrometry, chromatography, and others.
o Knowledge on characterization of intrinsically disordered proteins.
o Techniques used to produce recombinantly expressed proteins of high purity, including expression of isotopically labelled proteins.
- Ability to understand and apply concepts from other life science areas, including medicinal chemistry, cell biology and data sciences.
- Ability to design and perform the experiments in a systematic, precise, and independent manner. Efficient time management and capability to deliver high-quality results within set timelines.
- Capability to analyse, visualise and communicate scientific findings to multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a dynamic team of scientists and experts.
- High proficiency in spoken and written English.
