Solution NMR spectroscopy on complex drug product

Position Overview:

Under the guidance of a mentor, the selected fellow will conduct research on complex generic and biologic drugs using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and other analytical methods like DLS and FPLC. This research will aim to develop validated methods to assess the identity, purity, content and higher order or microstructure of complex drugs in comparison to the reference listed drug. The participant will conduct analysis and experimentation in the laboratory utilizing developed procedures and will document and report data in a timely manner according to regulatory guidelines. The fellow will perform much of the research on 850 MHz spectrometers in the FDA White Oak Campus NMR Facility.

Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. degree holder majoring in analytical, organic, physical, natural product chemistry, biochemistry biophysics or pharmaceutical science.
  • Experience in the field of chemical composition analysis of small molecule mixture, natural product, nucleic acids, proteins or polysaccharide/glycan using NMR is necessary.
  • Salary is commensurate with education and experience. US citizenship, green card, EAD, OPT (1-year, no extension) is required. An H1b visa cannot be sponsored for this position.
